December 2021
Dear Parents and Guardians
New Year 2022 – Arrangements for start of the Spring term and Lateral Flow Device Testing
As we end the Autumn term I want to keep you informed of the plans for the start of the new term in January. The Government Guidance has stated that all students returning to secondary school in the Spring term must receive a Lateral Flow Test in the school’s test centre (LFT), before at home testing continues. Therefore, the start to this school term will involve some students coming in to school on the INSET day to enable us to test all students with minimal disruption to learning. Please see our plans below:
Spring Term 2022 Plan – Tuesday 4th January
INSET Day - Tuesday 4th January 2022 Students in Year 7, 10, 11 and Sixth Form to be tested in the school sports hall. Students should arrive at their designated time slot below and then leave site once the test is completed.

If you have already completed a Consent Form for testing this year there is no need to complete another form. However, if your child is new to the school and you did not give consent previously please complete a consent form by clicking on the link below:
https://forms.office.com/r/jV0CqkkMhc
If you have completed a form previously and you wish to change your mind either giving or withdrawing consent please email jthomas@trinity.newburyacademytrust.org. More details about the LFT process is attached to this letter.
If your child tested positive with a PCR test, they should not be tested using either PCR or Lateral Flow Test for 90 days, unless they develop new symptoms during this time, in which case they should be retested immediately using a PCR test.
The school will continue to provide hand sanitiser in every classroom as well as continuing with our enhanced cleaning routines working with our contractor Cleantec. We ask all staff and students continue to wear masks in communal areas. Please make sure your child brings an appropriate mask to school with them every day. Along with these protective measures, these tests will help staff and students to remain in school safely. Up to one third of people who have coronavirus experience no symptoms. By testing we will help to stop the virus spread and help to keep our school operating as safely as possible. The test is voluntary, but I would encourage everyone to take it.
We recommend that all staff and students continue to test over the holidays in line with national guidance. This means that they should test if they will be in a high-risk situation that day and before visiting people who are at higher risk of severe illness if they get COVID-19.
As we come to the end of this term I want to thank you for your continued support and championing of our school, the partnership we have with parents and home is a strong one. I wish you all a restful and healthy Christmas break and hope that by working together we can return to all the things we enjoy in the New Year.
Yours sincerely
Dr C Wilson
