Sports Personality of the Year 2022

Trinity School’s Sports Personality of the Year Evening was back on the calendar this year, taking place on Tuesday 5th July.  The evening celebrated the sporting achievements and success across the school from this academic year.  The evening was hosted by the PE staff who were joined by Ady Williams, former Reading and Welsh International football player and now BBC Sports Journalist on Radio Berkshire.  Ady entertained the audience giving them a whistle stop tour of his football career and offering sage advice to our students about the importance of surrounding themselves with good people and living their dreams.

Ady presented awards to sports men and women from each year group; the winners were:

 

Year 7 Girls – Matty Matthews        Year 7 Boys – Zach Muir

Year 8 Girls – Sophie Byway           Year 8 Boys – Jack Parish

Year 9 Girls – Megan Fairchild        Year 9 Boys – Ethan Wilson

Year 10 Girls – Khadija Diallo          Year 10 Boys – Matthew Carter

Teams of the Year:   Year 8 Girls Netball and Year 7 Boys Football.

Sports Leaders:  Aaron White and Dan Udry

 

The overall sports personality of the year went to Oliver Agar who will be continuing his sporting career on the London Irish ACE Programme.

 

Charlotte Wilson, Executive Headteacher said “this was a wonderful event to recognise and celebrate the sporting excellence across the school, through both our school sports programme and beyond; we have many students who represent our district, county and who compete on the national stage and I am incredibly proud of all they achievements”.
