Trinity School

Autism Resource

Trinity is home to one of West Berkshire’s specialist resource units; the Autism Resource. This resource caters for students who have an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) for the Autism Spectrum and, without specialist intervention would struggle in a mainstream school. Admission is through the SEN Assessment Team and the SEN Panel.

The resource is a state of the art space with two classrooms, various meeting and small group rooms, a kitchen/common room, an office and a sensory free quiet zone.

Within the resource, there is a dedicated team of staff; A Teacher in Charge, HLTA and a team of Teaching Assistants. The resource supports 15 students across Years 7 to 13.

The students are supported by the staff to access the curriculum within mainstream lessons. They are also given a variety of supporting interventions within the resource space such as life skills sessions, social skills sessions, esteem builders and therapy e.g. Riding for the Disabled. The resource also provides a safe space within the busy life of Trinity.
