Break Out! Dance Performace

On the 23rd January 2019 over 50 students from Trinity School in Newbury hosted and performed as part of ‘Breakout’ alongside students from Park House School and The Downs at Arlington Arts Centre.

The purpose of Breakout is to share outstanding dance between local West Berkshire secondary schools, and this year absolutely delivered excellence. The performers were made up of students from years 7 – 13, and comprised an outstanding and eclectic mixture of both class work and extracurricular company repertoire. The hard work, dedication and passion of the performers were clear to see, from Trinity’s outstanding two boys’ dance companies, to the brilliant gifted and talented company, ‘Senior AIR’, and the examination performances from Trinity BTEC Level 3 students and Park House A Level students. All students were celebrated equally and emphatically by a highly impressed sell-out audience.

‘Performing at Breakout was an excellent experience for me; particularly as we got to watch other schools perform. I’m proud to be part of Explosive Dance Company, and dance at Trinity gives me so many opportunities’ (Andre Fragata, Year 7 Student)

“We had such a great time being part of Break Out! Lovely atmosphere in the theatre as we rehearsed, really great to do something together between our schools, fab choreography and inspiring dancing for our pupils when viewing your pieces and all in all a great experience! We all really enjoyed being a part of the show!” (Ros Mawazini, Head of Dance, Park House School)

‘I continue to be blown away by the Trinity students and their talent, enthusiasm and diligence in Dance. The students worked extremely hard in preparation for this performance, and it was so rewarding to see the support students had for each other across the three schools. It was a pleasure working with Park House and The Downs schools, and I hope more collaboration will happen in the near future. (Amy Gale Head of Dance, Trinity School
