SCHOOL UNIFORM

School uniform identifies students as members of our school and should be worn with dignity and pride.

The compulsory pieces of uniform are only available through School kit 40E Street, Parkway shopping, Newbury, RG14 1AY (TEL: (01635) 226703).

Uniform Year 7-11:

Only four items of our uniform and PE kit are branded and must be bought from Skoolkit. Everything else can be bought from any shop as long as it matches the description in this guide.

This follows the Department for Education’s statutory guidance on the cost of school uniforms.

For each item below we say whether it is compulsory or optional, and whether it must come from Skoolkit or can be bought anywhere.

ITEM	WHAT TO LOOK FOR
Shirt or blouse	Plain white, short or long sleeved, with a collar that can be worn with a tie (a revere-neck blouse is also fine). No logos or patterns.
Skirt or trousers	Skirt: plain black, knee length, no slits or decoration, not a stretchy tube material. If buying from Skoolkit item SK242 Trousers: plain black, tailored school style; no jeans, chinos, leggings, cargo, flared or skinny-fit trousers. If buying from Skoolkit item DL965
Shorts Summer term only	Plain black tailored school shorts, around knee length. No sports shorts.
Name labels	Optional (recommended)	Any iron-on or sew-in labels, or a laundry marker.

PE and Dance kit:

For PE, students only need the branded polo shirt and either the branded shorts or skort listed above. No student will be expected to buy extra kit to play in a team or match.

Shoes, coats and bags

None of these need to be branded or bought from a particular shop.

Shoes: plain black, polishable school shoes; no trainers or boots or high heels
PE footwear: any trainers suitable for sport.
Coats: any plain, sensible coat without large logos
Bags: any bag large enough for an A4 folder

Second-hand uniform

Second-hand uniform, including branded items, is available at low cost to all families. Parents can contact their child’s tutor or Head of House or via the PTA online page.

We welcome donations of outgrown uniform, especially jumpers and PE kit, so other families can benefit.

Hair, Make-Up, Jewellery

Make-up should be natural and not extreme. No extremes of hairstyle will be accepted including extremely short cuts or any patterns cut into the hair. Hair should not be brightly coloured or dyed or coloured more than one colour.
The only jewellery which may be worn is limited to one simple small stud in each earlobe (i.e. no stretches, hoops, etc.) and a watch. No other facial piercings, including tongue piercings or tattoos are allowed
No coloured nail varnish and/or nail extensions to be worn. Natural/clear polish only

Mobile Phones

Trinity is a Phone-free School. Students in Years 7-11 are all given a phone pouch and lock their phone away in the pouch at the start of each day.

Sixth Form Uniform

Our sixth form students wear business dress suitable for an office environment
No hooded tops, trainers, denim or combat style trousers
Shirt, tie, smart trousers, smart shoes, smart jumper - no excessive logos
Smart trousers/skirt, smart shoes, appropriate top of choice - not low cut or revealing
Smart jumper - no excessive logos
One pair of small earrings - no other types of piercings; appropriate make-up
Uniforms for specific subjects, such as PE, PA and Catering can be worn for those lessons only
For Sixth Form games students may wear their own sports clothes
SUMMER TERM OPTION: Smart business dress, shorts and polo shirts worn with smart shoes

Equipment List

Every student must have the following basic equipment for all lessons. Tutors will check every day students have these items and issue sanction if missing.
