Trinity School

Beauty and the Beast 2019

On Wednesday 20th, Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd March, Trinity School saw over 200 students take to the stage to perform as part of a fantastic cast in the production of ‘Disney’s Beauty and the Beast’. With auditions taking place last November, the show has been eagerly anticipated and has seen much dedication and time given to rehearsals to prepare and dazzle audiences for four sell out performances!

There were four performances the first saw over 265 primary school pupils packed into the main hall where students were wowed by Belle (played by Jade Caulfield) and the story of how she and the Beast (Zachary Rae) gradually fell in love. The story follows the Beast capturing Belle’s father Maurice (James Cooper), despite the best efforts of the arrogant Gaston (George Trigwell) and his sidekick Lefou (Jessica Hilton-Owen). This was followed by 3 sell out evening performances, where parents, families and friends were dazzled, amazed and laughed along with the wonderfully funny and magical servants to the Beast – the enchanted objects of Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs Potts, Babette, Chip and the Wardrobe (played by Max Fowler, Alex McQuillan, Becky Arnold, Mia Pounds, Hannah Biddulph and Hannah Gibbon). Highlights of the show included the whole cast and Year 7 students filling the hall to sing and dance well-known favourites ‘Be My Guest’, ‘Gaston’ and ‘The Mob Song’.

The show was a true success and everyone left singing the songs, talking about their favourite characters and with smiles on their faces! Well done to all of our brilliantly talented students who took part in the show!

The big question that is on the tip of everyone’s tongues now is…what show are we doing next year? Keep an eye out for announcements later in the year to find out more!
