Sports Personality of the Year 2019

Trinity School gathered together on Thursday, 26th June 2019 to celebrate the sporting success, talent and dedication shown by Trinity students throughout the year. We were joined by Olympic gold medal and world championship rower and tri-athlete Toby Garbett, who gave an inspiring and informative speech which resonated well with the audience.
Throughout the evening the audience heard of the achievements Trinity had enjoyed this academic year, as well as watching the following students crowned Sports Personality of the Year within their year group.
Year 7 - Eloise Alty and Zachary Hayton;
Year 8 - Eloise Wade and Harry Cooper;
Year 9 - Abi Agar and Jacob Wilson;
Year 10 - Izzy Kerslake and Oliver Cullum.
The girls’ Team of the Year was won by the Year 9 girls hockey team and the boys’ Team of the Year was won by the Under 13 football team who are district cup winners two years’ running and reached the fifth round of the national cup. Sports Ambassador of the Year went to Leah Berry for her passion for sport and leadership and Seb Goodwin won the Sporting Excellence Award.
The evening culminated in the awarding of the Sports Personality of the Year across the whole school and this year Kgaogelo Chauke was the winner. Kgaogelo is a strong all-round sports person who has a wealth of natural ability allowing him to excel in many sports. Next year Kgaogelo has been offered a full scholarship at Southampton FC Youth Academy, where he will be full-time, studying a sports-related course and playing for the youth team; we wish Kgaogelo every success in the future.
