Key Stage 4

At Key Stage 4 we offer a Level 2 Award in Child Development and Care – CACHE.

The aim of this course is to provide students with a basic understanding of the key elements within Childcare. The course is a fascinating and enjoyable introduction that provides both the knowledge and the skills set required to work within the Childcare sector. This qualification will give students a real insight in to the requirements of working with young children.

To achieve the Level 2 Award students must achieve all units:

Unit 1 An introduction to working with children aged 0-5 years
Unit 2 Development and well-being 0-5 years
Unit 3 Childcare and development 0-5 years

CACHE will set and assess a 2000-3000 word assignment assessment for both unit 1 and 2. In addition there will also be a final exam for unit 3. There will be internally set end of section assessments to monitor knowledge and understanding.
