Humanities

Humanities gives students at Trinity the knowledge to understand the world they live in. It enables them to see how we have got to where we are, to explain the changes happening in the world today, and to understand the diverse range of people that inhabit it.

Beyond academic knowledge, Humanities teaches each student the roles that individuals can play in an increasingly globalised world. Through intricate and passionate teaching, students explore a range of traditional content infused with current and topical examples to ensure they know and understand the world they are entering after leaving school.

As a department, we believe our success comes from the relationships formed with students on their journey from Year 7 to Year 13. Many students opt to study more than the required Humanities options at GCSE, and then multiple Humanities subjects at A Level. Students gain more than just subject knowledge from their teachers. Lessons offer students opportunities to question teachers and to explore concepts in further detail. Beyond this students are able to attend extra – curricular opportunities in environmentalism, Classics, Mock Trial and a wide variety of field trips which bring their subjects to life.

At present, there are a number of subjects taught within the Humanities faculty
