Performing Arts

Our Performing Arts department includes Dance, Drama and Music.

Every student receives one hour of dance, drama and music each week at KS3. When opting to continue with one or more performing arts subject at GCSE, students work towards achieving their Bronze Arts Award in Year 9. Students can choose to further extend their Performing Arts by choosing one of three subject in Sixth Form. We offer a wide range of enrichment so that all students have the chance to express themselves and grow in confidence; a broad range of clubs and company’s run throughout the year, with all student’s welcome.

Curriculum lessons are enriched through a wide range of high quality events that take place each year. Our outstanding House Performing Arts event is a highly contested, unique event. It is entirely student led, with Sixth form students leading their younger house students culminating in a showcase in October of each year. We host an annual school show in March, which features a large main cast and opportunity for all of Year 7 to participate. Alongside this we have our Dance Festival in July of each year, with over 400 students performing, with further dance and drama platforms across the year. Each year we host our own Dance Platform – Breakout at Arlington Arts. A range of music events include our Summer and Christmas Concerts, Trinity Sessions and Recital Evening. Each year, we award our Rising Musical Star, Musician and Singer of the Year Awards. We offer a range of trips to all students and work with a broad range of practitioners and artists who run workshops and enhance student learning further.
