Rough Sleep 2025

Following on from the success of the Rough Sleep held in 2023 in which Griffin House, one of Trinity School’s four houses, raised £1500 for local charity Two Saints, they decided to do another Rough Sleep this year!

This year students from Griffin and Pegasus House joined forces to try and raise even more money for their chosen charity CoppaFeel.  CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity - we know anyone can be affected by breast cancer, but a quarter of young people don’t realise they are at risk and so we have chosen to fundraise for the Know Yourself campaign and join the mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. The charity educates people on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer and encourages them to check their chests regularly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves.

Twenty students from each House were successful in their application to participate this year. After months of applications, interviews, assemblies, workshops on rough sleeping and fundraising we finally slept out under the stars with only some cardboard and sleeping bags for comfort on the 4th July.  It was a mobile phone free evening and they all felt the better for it. The evening was full of joy, fun and fantastic memories were made by all.

Our Fundraising efforts closed on the 11th July at midday and we are pleased to announce that we raised £4,500. Ms Pacheco and Ms Dickinson are so incredibly proud of their students for embodying the school ethos of personal excellence and collective responsibility. They could not be more impressed by their wonderful students and they would like to thank everyone who has donated to this wonderful cause. Now they rest and take stock of their amazing achievement ready for the next Rough Sleep fundraising event in 2027.

Albany Halbrook - Community Fundraising Assistant for CoppaFeel HQ said

“I was absolutely gobsmacked at how much your students have managed to raise! It is truly incredible to reach a total like that - I’m not sure we’ve ever had students raise that much from one event.

That is an incredible impact, which will make a big difference in the lives of young people facing a breast cancer diagnosis. Thank you for helping to ensure that all breast cancers are diagnosed early and accurately. Your students will have saved lives with the money that we can put into spreading our message.”
